About this course
The Pg Dip High Intensity CBT programme is designed to equip the next generation of skilled clinicians to deliver life-changing, evidence-based psychological therapies for common mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. Developed in line with national priorities, the course plays a vital role in strengthening NHS Talking Therapies services, with graduates going on to deliver high-intensity CBT directly within clinical settings.
Funded through NHS England, this programme combines academic excellence with real-world impact - supporting the development of effective, evidence-based interventions across primary care. It also provides a clear pathway to professional recognition, giving you the essential training required to progress towards full accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), with Level 2 accreditation already in place.
You’ll study within a well-established department known for high-quality teaching and research in psychological care, learning from experienced academics who are also practising clinicians within local NHS Trusts. Their strong links to services ensure your training stays relevant, applied, and closely connected to current clinical practice.
