This module has been developed to meet the increasing demands of education within the Advanced Practitioner roles in the healthcare environment.
The module aims to provide the student with extended knowledge and understanding of the theoretical underpinning of Conscious Sedation. The module is suitable for practice within all areas of healthcare for which conscious sedation has an application.
This module is designed to develop critical, professional knowledge regarding the application and administration of conscious sedation and to provide opportunities to examine the legal, ethical and moral issues of prescribing and administrating medicines.
The module is delivered online only and will be facilitated by a variety of clinicians, highly experienced nurses and other allied health professionals with extended experience within this area as part of the continued commitment to the inter-professional learning agenda within the university. It is recognised that there is considerable benefit from shared learning alongside other disciplines within the healthcare arena.
