Tim is the Programme Director for Paramedic Science. He is the module lead for Clinical Practice Education 1, Clinical Practice Education 2, Clinical Assessment and Examination, and Clinical Practice Education 3.
Tim brings over 25 years of hands-on experience in the emergency pre-hospital setting. He has served in multiple roles within the ambulance service, including Paramedic, Clinical Team Educator, and Clinical Development Manager/Clinical Lead. Notably, Tim lead the clinical supervisor team and the implementation of the first clinically enhanced team to enhance and support the care of critically ill patients, significantly improving the management of critically ill patients in pre-hospital settings. His clinical fellowship in Major Trauma and leadership and establishing a cardiology network highlight his advanced knowledge and expertise in handling complex emergency situations.
Academically, Tim has studied Paramedic science, Critical Care, Healthcare Leadership, Healthcare Education and has extensive teaching experience with the Resuscitation Council UK, instructing on Advanced Life Support (ALS), European Paediatric Life Support (EPALS), and the Generic Instructor Course (GIC). His international teaching record, including teaching in Sweden and Vietnam, showcases his ability to adapt his methods to different cultural contexts. Prior to joining the University of Hull, Tim was a Senior Lecturer and course leader in Advanced Clinical Practice at Sheffield Hallam. Following his transitioning to academia, Tim has focused on educating future healthcare professionals, emphasising the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills to prepare students for various clinical scenarios.
