About Dr Sarah Greer
My research interests fall into two spheres. The first is medieval history, with a particular interest in the intersection of memory, power and gender. I completed my PhD at the University of St Andrews looking at the writing of history by and for female monastic institutions in tenth-century Germany. This served as the basis for my first monograph, Commemorating Power in Early Medieval Saxony.
The second sphere is a growing interest in the pedagogy of doctoral supervision and the experience of postgraduate researchers. From my role working in PGR Development, I'm increasingly interested in how research supervision can be made more inclusive and accessible.
