Dr Qin Xiao is a Senior Lecturer in finance with previous experience lecturing in property at the University of Aberdeen. She gained her PhD in Economics at Nanyang Technological University and worked as a research analyst in the private sector.

About Dr Qin Xiao
Dr. Qin Xiao is a financial economist and Senior Lecturer in Finance at the University of Hull, UK. A Fellow of AdvanceHE (FHEA), she has over two decades of teaching and research experience, including prior appointments at the University of Aberdeen and Nanyang Technological University. Her research focuses on asset pricing, financial system stability, corporate governance, and housing markets, with recent work expanding into corporate innovation and the role of commodity markets in driving instability. She has published widely in leading journals such as International Journal of Finance & Economics and International Review of Financial Analysis. Beyond research, she has supervised multiple PhD projects, directed MSc programmes in Finance and Accounting, and co‑directed the Centre for Economic and Financial Policy and Accountability, where she led knowledge exchange initiatives and doctoral training. Dr. Xiao also serves as a reviewer for major journals and funding bodies, contributing to the advancement of financial scholarship.
