He obtained his PhD in Engineering from The Robert Gordon University in 2016 and MSc in Nanotechnology and Nanoelectronic Devices from the University of Surrey in 2011. He has a BEng degree in Electronics and Communication from the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University in India. Before starting his career in academia, he worked in the consumer electronics industry for about 5 years. His research involved the development of fibre optic sensors, surface plasmon resonance sensors, and synthesis of metal/metal oxide nanomaterials for application in environmental sensing and monitoring, medical technology and offshore renewable energy systems. Currently, his work is mainly focused on the development of fibre optic sensing systems for offshore renewable energy structures.
