John Bernasconi, the University's Director of Fine Art, lectures in art history. He is a specialist in Italian Renaissance art and has written on it in both English and Italian publications.
As Director of Fine Art, John has responsibility for the University Art Collection and organises an annual programme of exhibitions and public lectures
He was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and educated at Ampleforth. He read history at Bristol University and trained as an art historian at the Courtauld Institute, London University.
