Summary

Isobel Reagan is a Lecturer in Education and Childhood Studies. She teaches across the School of Education, including Education Studies, Childhood studies, and Master's provision.

Her research interests centre on Democratic and Participatory approaches and pedagogies in early childhood, this extends to thinking around curriculum and children's agency, particularly in reference to art education and forest school.

Isobel holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History of Art, a PGCE in early childhood education, an MA in Education and a PhD in early childhood education.

Isobel currently leads the Forest School Provision for the School of Education

Isobel supervises students on the MA in Education, supporting them with their Extended Research Projects (Dissertation)

She is also currently Module Leader for the following modules:

Families Living in Challenging Contexts (Working with Children, Young People and Families Programme)

Enabling Environments (BA (Hons) Early Childhood Education and Care (Top-Up)) ((BA (Hons) Early Childhood Education and Care (Top-Up) (Graduate Practitioner))

Professional Reflective Practice: Innovative Practice and Alternative Pedagogies (Foundation degree Professional Practice Early Years (0-8))

Research interests

- Participatory research approaches and Democratic practices

- Children's agency, particularly with reference to cultural participation

- Art education, particularly visual art

- Outdoor pedagogies, the Forest School approach and sustainable practices in education
