Director of Foundation Year Studies
Emma is the Director of Foundation Year at the University of Hull, who oversees the provision for the integrated Foundation Years. She has a keen interest in Student identity and their sense of belonging, depending on how this is influenced depending on their academia, social and environmental circumstances.
Emma's background was initially in Theatre and Events where she was a stage manager for 13 years, working with the BBC, National Youth Music Theatre and the Northern Academy of Performing Arts (Hull). Following this, Emma went into Education which she worked with Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) as a Student Reviewer, was President of the Hull College Students' Union (2013 - 2014) and worked in collaboration with the National Union of Students on campaigns and focus groups to enhance the student experience.

Emma was nominated for 2019's Top 30 Under 30's Award in Hull and Humber for her work in student experience and engagement.

2016 - 2021
Emma was the Vice Chair (2020 - 2021) and Governor for Hull College, focusing on student experience, safeguarding and Higher Education.
