The Academy for Research Knowledge Exchange (ARKE)
The Academy for Research and Knowledge Exchange (ARKE) is at the heart of our research community, offering customised training, co-ordinating mentoring for researchers, support networks, and resources for researchers at all stages of their careers. Whether you’re just starting, mid-career, or a senior researcher, ARKE provides a clear pathway to success.
ARKE offers cohort-based development programmes for early-career, mid-career, and senior researchers. Our training covers essential topics like responsible research, data management, and open research.
Researcher Development
We offer comprehensive support, training, and development to help our academics advance in their careers. Our commitment to researcher development is guided by the Researcher Development Concordat, Vitae’s Researcher Development Framework (RDF), and the HR Excellence in Research Award.
Professional support for research
Supporting your research journey goes beyond training – it involves a strong infrastructure of professional support, as well as effective frameworks and systems.

Doctoral College
The Doctoral College provides dedicated support for postgraduate research students, complementing subject-specific supervision with opportunities for skills development, tailored training, and access to specialist facilities. Its vibrant research community and interdisciplinary ethos helps students thrive academically and prepare for diverse careers beyond their degree.
