The University of Hull’s Humber Business Week Dinner is one of the region’s most prestigious invitation‑only events, uniting influential leaders from our region for an evening of celebration, inspiration and meaningful networking.
This year’s theme, High Performance, explores what it takes for individuals, organisations and regions to excel and to sustain that excellence over time. From leadership behaviours and performance culture, to innovation, collaboration and the power of marginal gains, the evening will shine a light on the principles that underpin long‑term success.
Across the Humber, there is a growing sense of opportunity – a belief that by working together in new and more ambitious ways, we can accelerate progress for the whole region. We’re committed to playing our part as a university, working alongside organisations of every size to bring insight, expertise and talent to the challenges and possibilities ahead. This dinner is a chance for us to explore how, together, we can collectively grow as a high‑performing region.
Guests will enjoy a three‑course dinner, thought‑provoking insight and conversation and the opportunity to connect with leaders and changemakers from across the Humber.
Welcoming our invitees will be special guests from Team GB men’s curling team, hot off their incredible sliver-medal winning performance at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
Our keynote speaker for the evening is Ed Clancy OBE. Ed is the most successful Team Pursuit cyclist in history, having won gold with Team GB at three successive Olympic Games. Drawing on nearly two decades at the pinnacle of elite sport, including his time within the world‑renowned British Cycling programme led by Sir Dave Brailsford, Ed will explore how small changes can deliver extraordinary results, and how data, analysis and specialist expertise can transform performance over time.

Since retiring from professional cycling, Ed has applied his high‑performance mindset to business, co‑founding Pursuit Line, a leadership and coaching consultancy, and working with British Cycling’s Research and Innovation Team.
Whether you lead a team, a business or a sector, we hope guests will leave the evening with both inspiration and tangible actions you can implement right away.
