The RP Drawing Prize 2026: Revealing the Human

This event is open from Friday September 18th to Sunday October 18th.

Following last year's highly successful debut, the exhibition returns with an outstanding selection of portraits by artists from around the world. Showcasing the very best in contemporary portrait drawing, the exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to view exceptional works and celebrate artistic excellence.

The exhibition has become a major art event and truly international in character with entries from a remarkable 71 different countries: most numerously the UK and USA, but also most European countries, Canada, South America, and Africa, and including Australia and New Zealand, China, India, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.

We have increased the number of works we are showing this year to 112 drawings, chosen by a panel of Anthony Connolly (President, Royal Society of Portrait Painters), Caragh Savage, (internationally established artist and teacher specialising in drawing) and John Bernasconi (Director, University of Hull Art Gallery).
