Mature Students' Summer School

Get to grips with university life with our Mature Student's Summer School.
The Mature Students’ Summer School is a supportive and empowering transition initiative launched by the University of Hull to help adult learners confidently step into higher education.
Through an engaging blend of lectures, workshops, and collaborative sessions, participants gain a comprehensive, practical toolkit for undergraduate study. The curriculum integrates vital academic skill-building, including formal writing, project planning, and referencing, whilst navigating the university environment.
Who is it for?
This programme is not only aimed at applicants entering Foundation Year and Level 4 courses, but is also aimed at those who have not yet applied but have attended outreach activities and webinars designed for students entering higher education.
What will you gain?
Whether you are preparing to balance your studies with life and caring responsibilities, or looking to navigate financial and disability support, the programme equips participants with the strategies necessary to thrive within university life.
This summer school represents a unique opportunity for prospective students to collaborate, share experiences, and build a lasting network before the trimester even begins.
