Join us for an inspiring audience with Dame Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock DBE, one of the UK's most celebrated space scientists and science communicators.

In this fascinating event, Dame Maggie explores four of the biggest questions in space and astronomy, taking us on a journey from our own night sky to the far reaches of the universe.

Renowned for her passion for bringing science to everyone, Dame Maggie has become a familiar and trusted face on television. Her BBC Two programme Do We Really Need the Moon? earned her the Talkback Thames New Talent Award, followed by Do We Really Need Satellites? and Channel 4's Brave New World. She is currently a presenter of BBC Four's iconic The Sky at Night.

An accomplished author, her books include The Book of the Moon, Dr Maggie's Grand Tour of the Solar System, and The Art of Stargazing. She studied Physics at Imperial College London before completing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering.

In 2025, Dame Maggie made history as the first Black woman to present the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures, with her acclaimed series Is There Life Beyond Earth?, exploring space, telescopes, and the search for extraterrestrial life.
