The Freedom of Information Act (2000) is designed to make the public sector more open and accountable. It requires public organisations, like universities, to share information. One way to do this is through a Publication Scheme, and another way is by responding to FOI requests within 20 working days. The University of Hull also has a Model Publication Scheme (MPS) that explains the information it publishes or plans to publish.
