How do I access the Internet as a staff visitor?

What is Govroam?

Govroam (Government Roaming) is a nationwide roaming wireless network used by staff at hundreds of public sector organisations including NHS Trusts, local authorities and emergency services.

Using Govroam at the University

Hull University offers connectivity to the Govroam network as a visitor-only service at select locations on campus. Public sector staff from a participating home institution will be able to authenticate with their home credentials to the Govroam Wi-Fi network.

This service is only provided to visiting staff. University staff and students should continue to use the UoH-Net and eduroam Wi-Fi networks where applicable.

Visiting users should note that when connecting to the Govroam service at the University, you must adhere to the Hull University IT Acceptable Use Policy.

Troubleshooting

Visiting users that encounter issues authenticating to the Govroam network should first contact their home institution’s IT for support.
