Do I need a personal statement for Clearing?

Not always. You may be asked for a personal statement during Clearing, but it’s not always required.

Many universities will review the personal statement already in your UCAS application. However, some courses may ask for an updated or shorter statement, especially if you are applying for a different subject.

It’s a good idea to prepare a brief, clear explanation of why you want to study the course and what makes you a suitable applicant, so you’re ready if a university requests it.

For more guidance, read our UCAS personal statement guide or check out our upcoming workshops.
