Education Studies: optional pathways

Our BA Education Studies programme offers opportunities to tailor your degree through our optional pathways and build your experience through work placements and project based learning.

Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusion (SENDI) centres on the exclusion, discrimination, and barriers to learning through the restructuring of cultures, policies and practices.

Youth and Community Work (YCW) gives you the opportunity to gain an honours degree and the professional JNC qualification in Youth Work.

In Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), you’ll develop and integrate key English language teaching and academic knowledge alongside practical and varied community-based teaching experience.

Two-year degree courses

Our innovative two-year Primary / Secondary Teaching Studies degrees provide an opportunity to gain your first degree while focusing on your future ambition of becoming a teacher. This is ideal if you're convinced you want to teach, if you're thinking of changing your career, or if you're looking to gain a specialist first degree.

Develop your understanding of learning and teaching, gaining an in-depth knowledge of curriculum subjects. Learn about children’s and young people’s development and needs, and gain valuable experience in school and educational settings.
