Research in the School of Paramedical, Perioperative and Advanced Practice

The department is a very clinically focused one with strong practitioners and enthusiastic staff who want to actively develop into researchers. Our team includes Early Career Researchers, creating opportunities to engage in and develop new research.

Our research strengths extend across the fields of pre-hospital care, pharmacology, critical care, advanced practice and physiotherapy.

Recent successes from the department include real-time major trauma extraction scenarios to enhance engagement; incivility in the pre-hospital environment; exploring improvement in recruitment and support for widening participation; and realist synthesis of community pharmacy in COVID-19. In addition, several members of the team have been successful in securing grants with more active grant applications underway.
