About this Taster Session

Starlight journeys across the unfathomable depths of the cosmos to reach the eyes of people all over our small blue planet. The nightly constellations are more than just star signs; they are entwined with mythologies from across the globe and throughout human history. Join me to explore the enduring significance of the night sky with a discussion of what patterns of stars mean to humans, why they are named as they are, and to make your own constellations from starlight.

Key topics covered:

  • Astronomy
  • The mutual influence of astronomy and culture on each other
