Award
£1,000

Study type
Undergraduate

Eligibility
LGBTQ+ students with a low household income or a disability

About this award

We support our LGBTQ+ community all year round, and in 2021/22 we were proud to launch the UK’s first LGBTQ+ Undergraduate University Scholarship. We're pleased to be able to continue to offer this support for continuing (second, third and fourth year) University of Hull students in 2023/24.

The Jeremy Round LGBTQ+ Scholarship is available to students who identify as LGBTQ+, are not in their first year of study, and:

  • have a household income of less than £25,000

and/or

  • a disability

Named in memory of cookery writer and journalist (and University of Hull alumnus) Jeremy Round, each £1,000 award will support an LGBTQ+ student with the costs of study.

The recipients will also have the opportunity to meet with LGBTQ+ alumni who have enjoyed success in their respective fields, for advice and question sessions. This will include alumnus Jeremy Trevathan, of major publishing company Pan Macmillian, who generously helped to establish this award.
