About this award

We support our LGBTQ+ community all year round, and are proud to be launching the UK’s first LGBTQ+ Undergraduate University Scholarship for 2021/22.

The Jeremy Round LGBTQ+ Scholarship is available to ten students who identify as LGBTQ+ and:

  • have a household income of less than £25,000

  • a disability

Named in memory of cookery writer and journalist (and University of Hull alumnus) Jeremy Round, each £1,000 award will support an LGBTQ+ student with the costs of study.

The recipients will also have the opportunity to meet with LGBTQ+ alumni who have enjoyed success in their respective fields, for advice and question sessions. This will include alumnus Jeremy Trevathan, of major publishing company Pan Macmillian, who generously helped to establish this award.
