About this award

Marshall Scholars embody the UK and USA’s special relationship, and are chosen for their academic ability, leadership and ambassadorial potential.

Marshall Scholarships are mainly funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and are overseen by the Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission. Through the University of Hull and Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission’s agreement there is one award available for Marshall Scholars planning to study a graduate degree programme. This award covers tuition fees, maintenance and travel costs.

How to apply

Students must first become a Marshall Scholar, information on the application and selection process can be found on the Marshall Scholarships website.

In the US the selection process is managed by the regional Consulates General in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, and in Washington DC by the British Embassy.

Eligibility

  1. The Marshall Scholar must have been selected by the Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission Committees to study at the University of Hull.
  2. The Marshall Scholar is planning to study a one-year taught masters or one-year masters by research programme (MRes) in any subject offered at the University of Hull.
  3. The Marshall Scholar is accepted at the University of Hull through the usual admissions process.
