About this award

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Hull is offering 7 scholarships to students in Bangladesh, China, Ghana, Kenya, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam (1 for each country) applying for postgraduate courses in all subject areas. The GREAT Scholarships 2022 programme, launched by the British Council with partner universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, Brunei, China, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam and more to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at the partner institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The University of Hull in partnership with the British Council is pleased to announce the University of Hull – GREAT Scholarships 2022 – Bangladesh, China Ghana, Kenya, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam for students interested in studying at the University of Hull in September 2022.

2022 Scholarships

The University of Hull is offering scholarships for students beginning a full time, postgraduate taught programme starting in September 2022. The awards are as follows:

  • 1 x up to £10,000 (GBP) award for Bangladeshi students studying on any full time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme
  • 1 x up to £10,000 (GBP) award for Chinese students studying on any full time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme
  • 1 x up to £10,000 (GBP) award for Ghanaian students studying on any full time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme
  • 1 x up to £10,000 (GBP) award for Kenyan students studying on any full time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme
  • 1 x up to £10,000 (GBP) award for Turkish students studying on any full time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme
  • 1 x up to £10,000 (GBP) award for Thai students studying on any full time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme
  • 1 x up to £10,000 (GBP) award for Vietnamese students studying on any full time, Hull-based postgraduate taught programme

These scholarships will be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.

How to apply

To apply for the scholarship, you will need to complete and submit a University of Hull – GREAT Scholarship 2022 – Bangladesh, China, Ghana, Kenya, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam application form.

Eligibility

To be considered for the University of Hull – GREAT Scholarships 2022 Bangladesh, China, Ghana, Kenya, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam, you will need to:

  • be a Bangladeshi, Chinese, Ghanaian, Kenyan, Thai, Turkish or Vietnamese national and hold a passport from the respective countries
  • have received an offer of study on a postgraduate taught degree programme at the University of Hull
  • have achieved, or working towards, a 1st class degree or equivalent grade in their undergraduate programme recognised by the University of Hull
  • have achieved English language qualification before the application deadline
  • have not previously studied in the UK
  • be an ‘overseas’ student for fee paying purposes
  • have completed a University of Hull – GREAT Scholarship 2022 application form

Application deadline

The deadline for applications is 31 May 2022.

Selection

Successful candidates will be contacted in mid-June 2022. All candidates will be notified of the outcome of their applications by the end of June 2022.
