Research interests

Nineteenth and twentieth century United States and Philippine history. I have a particular interest in monument building, memorialisation and commemoration in colonial and postcolonial contexts and their use in nation-building/identity-making. I am also interested in the Philippine diaspora and the experiences of US-based Philippine migrants.
