Psychology courses

Our programmes enable you to master specialist techniques under the guidance of professional psychologists in cutting-edge facilities. At Hull, the School of Psychology and Social Work sits within the Faculty of Health Sciences.


Our undergraduate students develop a broad knowledge of psychology and learn how to apply it to real life situations under our expert staff.

Postgraduate courses focus on understanding and changing health behaviours. We have an enviable record in world-class research and welcome a wide variety of research proposals.

Foundation year

Gives you the skills and knowledge for entry on to a degree if you don’t quite meet the academic entry requirements.

Study abroad

We have partnerships with universities across the globe. Depending on your course, you can study for one trimester, or a full year, in another country.

Industrial placement

Work in industry as part of your degree. Depending on your course, you can spend part of your degree on placement. See your course page for specific details.

Integrated Masters

Some courses combine undergraduate and postgraduate study. The integrated Masters year is an extra year after your standard degree.

    This course is accredited by the British Psychological Society and encompasses topics such as memory, social relationships, child development and brain functions.

  • Criminology with Psychology

    Alongside gaining a thorough understanding of crime and criminal justice, you'll also explore human behaviour, performance and decision making.

  • Psychology with Criminology

    Accredited by the British Psychological Society, this degree combines the interrelated disciplines of psychology and criminology.

Our state-of-the-art facilities include electroencephalography (EEG) for measuring activity in the brain, a brain stimulation laboratory, an eye-tracking laboratory, an audiometric laboratory and much more.
