Lisa qualified from the University of Hull in 2000, with a DipSW and a degree in Social Work and Social Policy.

She has since practiced in the field of looked after children and child protection for local authority children's services, and as a children's services practitioner at the NSPCC.

Lisa joined the University in January 2009, starting her role as lecturer in November 2011. During this time, she has been programme director for the BA Social Work, and latterly, the Director of Social Work.

She is currently undertaking her PhD in the area of child neglect.
