Overseas Volunteering and internships

Experience a different culture, increase your skills and knowledge, build a network of new contacts and friends, enhance your employability skills and create an impressive CV –   undertaking volunteering overseas or an international placement offers you a wealth of personal and professional rewards.

Enhance your employability

A placement abroad can be invaluable on a personal and academic level, but in an increasingly competitive market, an opportunity to work overseas could also help you stand out from other graduates when you come to apply for graduate positions.

The personal benefits

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of volunteering overseas is the opportunity to travel the world and immerse yourself in new and unfamiliar cultures. As well as the impact experiences such as these can have on your future career, undertaking a placement overseas could be one of the most powerful and rewarding personal experiences of your life.

Where can I go?

Whilst you can arrange your own period of volunteering or work experience overseas, the University has established partnerships with a number of organisations, which provide opportunities overseas in a range of different countries and which have considerable experience of overseas placements and volunteering. All of our partners have been risked assessed and many offer the opportunity to travel and/or stay with other Hull students to make the experience a little less daunting. What is more, funding may be available towards travel and accommodation.
