School of Education and Social Sciences

The School of Education and Social Science brings together students, practitioners and researchers who examine the foundations of society, with those who want to help shape the society of tomorrow. The School of Education and Social Science is part of the Faculty of Arts, Cultures and Education.

A key strength of the School is its network of robust partnerships with educational institutions, social justice and legal groups, and community organisations - providing placement and engagement oppprtunities to bring learning and research to life.

Students and staff in Education are dedicated to learning about how we learn and our teacher training programmes prepare professionals for 21st century classrooms - from technology enabled environments and forest school settings. In the Social Sciences, you can undertake research and study into how social life is lived in all its complexity and cultural diversity - or you can understand the causes of crime and societal responses in one of country's most prestigious centres for Criminology.
