Summary

Dr. Tim Rudd is a Lecturer in Education at the University of Hull, where he teaches and leads on a range of Postgraduate and Undergraduate modules and courses.

He was the CEO/Founder of Livelab (an educational research and development organisation) and worked on numerous national and international projects in this role, including: The Teachers

First Programme in Egypt; Digital Literacy Development Programmes for the British Council; and the Whole School ICT Development project in Brunei.

Previously he was a Principal Lecturer in the Education Research Centre, University of Brighton, for over a decade.

Prior to that, Tim was a Senior Researcher and Services Development Manager at Futurelab, an educational technology charity. Before this, he was Head of Evidence and Research at the British Educational and Communications Technology Agency (BECTA).

He also previously held associate posts at York and Glasgow Universities.

Tim currently teaches and leads on a range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses and modules, and is also currently part of the PhD supervisory Team for 'Education for the future: scoping out the opportunities for education to support environmental stewardship'.

Research interests

Tim’s current research interests include: education, the environment and climate change; the sociology of education; critical theories and critical pedagogies; educational technology; critical perspectives on educational technology; the politics and ideology of education; narrative and biographical research methods; and alternative education systems and thought.
