Committed to informing young people and developing skills for achievable prospects.

The Schools & Colleges Engagement team deliver a wide range of activities both on campus and in schools and colleges for all age groups to raise awareness of higher education and to raise aspirations.

Year 7 to 11

The Outreach team are currently designing a bespoke program for pupils in years 7 to 11 to support their secondary education. We remain committed to providing activities that suit the needs of individual year groups.

Step Up Move On

This is a new and exciting programme that has been designed in collaboration with Hull and East Riding’s Children University.

Step Up Move On is designed to support a small group of looked after children throughout their secondary and higher education in order to build confidence, self-esteem and future aspirations.

Greenpower Project

The Greenpower Education Trust is a UK based charity which aims to inspire young people to participate in STEM education through the excitement of motorsport. We work with Hull City Council Youth Services to enable a group of young carers aged 10 to 16 to design, build and race an electric car to compete at Greenpower events.

The University of Hull has been recognised as a Greenpower centre of excellence. Centres of Excellence offer a facility in a central location which can act as a hub for Greenpower participant teams, providing promotion of the programme as well as support and training for participants.

Young Carers Residential

The outreach team have been delivering the ‘Young Carers Residential’ since 2014 at the University of Hull. It has been designed for students in Years 9 to 11 who are young carers from the Humber and Yorkshire area.

The residential is a four-day, three-night experience that runs during the Easter half term and explores the academic and social benefits of University through a broad academic programme, including general Higher Education information, student support and social activities.
