University of Hull celebrates with first-ever graduates from its London Study Centre

University of Hull students receiving their degrees today will celebrate a first.

Those donning cap and gown and taking to the stage at the city’s Connexin Live arena will include, for the first time, students graduating from the University’s London Study Centre.

Launched in May last year in partnership with Cambridge Education Group, the London Study Centre was established to offer students the opportunity to join taught University of Hull programmes whilst immersing themselves in the professional hub of the capital.

Over 200 of the Centre’s first intake of students will today receive master's degrees in subjects including Business Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management; and Digital Marketing and Advertising. 196 of them will receive their degrees in person at the Hull graduation ceremony.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dave Petley said:

“Throughout our history we have celebrated the hard work, determination and success of our students as they receive their degrees. We have welcomed students from any background or walk of life to our Cottingham Road campus, and they have thrived.

“Today, for the first time, we also celebrate the success of students who have found the same warm welcome at our Bloomsbury study centre in the heart of the capital. They too have thrived through access to University of Hull’s world-class programmes and outstanding student support.

The London Study Centre marks a significant step forward in our ambitions for growth and excellence. With Cambridge Education Group we are committed to providing students with global perspectives and the skills they need to excel in a rapidly changing world. We congratulate all our graduates, and we are proud to celebrate with them here in Hull, in London and internationally.

“Today marks a significant milestone for the London Study Centre and we are delighted to celebrate with many of our London graduate as they walk onto the graduation stage.

“The London Study Centre is an exciting part of the University of Hull’s growing commitment to expanding opportunities for students.

“Since its launch we have welcomed two further intakes and broadened the scope of the programmes we offer. We look forward to supporting many more students to succeed in the years to come.”
