We understand people will have concerns and questions regarding the evolving situation surrounding the outbreak of the coronavirus in China.
On Wednesday (January 29) we have issued updated communications to all our colleagues and students to give them advice and guidance in line with the information we’ve received from Public Health England.
The safety and wellbeing of our students, colleagues and local community is always our number one priority.
We currently have no colleagues or students on our campus who are required to be quarantined.
We’re working with the relevant authorities to support the very small number of students and researchers currently in China to help bring them safely back to the UK in line with official guidance.
We’re providing them with as much support as we possibly can to help them with this difficult situation.
As a precautionary measure, we’ve also suspended all University travel to China until the end of February at the earliest. We’ll extend this as needed.
We’re keeping the whole situation under continuous review and proactively keeping all our colleagues and students informed with the most appropriate and up to date information and guidance in line with advice from Public Health England and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
