Canham Turner

Canham Turner is an innovative, creative venue located on our beautiful main campus, offering flexible and cost-effective meeting and catering facilities, perfect for every event. Our facilities include light and airy spaces to suit groups of all sizes, including spaces for plenary and breakout sessions.

Middleton Hall

Following a £9.5 million investment, Middleton Hall is a world-class cultural venue with some of the finest facilities around. The centrepiece is a spectacular 406-seater auditorium that can be adapted to host theatre productions, conferences and surround-sound cinema screenings. It is accompanied by the contemporary Arts Café and Bar.

The hall is available for hire throughout the year, although some restrictions apply for daytime events during the teaching period.

Allam Medical Building

Winner of The Guardian's Buildings that Inspire 2018, the Allam Medical Building building provides a simulated learning environment – including a hospital ward, operating theatre, endoscopy unit, midwifery-led birthing unit, high dependency unit and resuscitation unit – that enables students to train in a real-life setting, giving them the skills and confidence to transition effectively into clinical practice.

HIVE

The Hull Immersive Visualization Environment (known as HIVE) provides an array of advanced visualization, motion capture and computer graphics technology. HIVE's resources include a virtual reality immersive cube, VR theatre and gigapixel wall facilities, plus wearable devices which are all available to our researchers.

Aura Innovation Centre

An environment designed to encourage collaboration, inspire innovation and accelerate business growth. The AIC building contains high quality office accommodation, state-of-the-art workshop, plus, conference and events spaces.
Located in one of the UK’s greenest business parks, Bridgehead, in a convenient, accessible location close to the Humber Bridge. All the spaces are brand new and fitted-out to the highest specifications.

The Hull Health Trials Unit is a collaboration between Hull York Medical School, the University of Hull and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. It has been established to facilitate collaboration between clinicians and researchers on the design, delivery and analysis of high quality, high impact health research. We offer a range of practical and specialist support to help investigators across a range of disciplines.

Laboratory Facilities

The Clinical Sciences Centre, a partnership between the Hull York Medical School and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, benefits from state-of-the-art laboratory facilities across our partner sites – the University of Hull and Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust. These modern, purpose-built laboratories provide the perfect environment to conduct scientific, clinical and applied research. Each facility features specialist equipment and is supported by dedicated laboratory technicians and clinical and academic researchers with a wealth of experience.

Enterprise Centre

The Enterprise Centre has helped start up over 150 freelancers and businesses. As of September 2019, it was estimated that 120 of our graduate businesses, supported directly through our extra-curricular entrepreneurship services, were still active (with 70 surviving 3 years or more) with a combined turnover of £5.5 million, creating almost 200 full-time jobs. Our consistently high rates of start-ups per student have seen us ranked second out of twenty in our comparator group in the Knowledge Exchange Framework.

Our commitment to providing a vibrant environment for enterprise and entrepreneurship, fostering talent, and offering outstanding support and facilities for start-ups is affirmed in the new Knowledge Exchange Strategy 2020-2025.
