Principles of Logistics and Supply Chain Management Foundations of Finance This module offers an understanding of key financial theories and practices: their strengths and weaknesses, and their usefulness in financial decision making. Key topics include financial performance analysis; risk and return; capital budgeting and management; and the time value of money. People Management Product Innovation and Support Technology During this module, you'll learn through intensive workshop style design sessions, alongside lectures and and tutorials to examine the theory. You'll explore the commercial aspects of product and system development in terms of evaluating market viability, analysing the competitive environment and assessing the potential of intellectual property. Project Management and Research Skills This module introduces you to a structured approach to planning/bidding, managing and controlling a project. You'll explore current practices, topics and methodologies relevant to contract and project management. You'll develop research skills for designing, planning and conducting an academic or industry-based engineering project. Engineering for Quality and Six Sigma Investigate the role of engineering quality and the philosophies implemented by industry. You'll focus on understanding and applying tools and techniques to ensure total quality. Entry requirements Generally, we require applicants to hold a Bachelor Honours degree at 2.2 level or above (or international equivalent) in an engineering, computer science or related numerate discipline. Applicants with atypical qualifications but with relevant industrial experience will also be considered. International students If you require a Tier 4 student visa to study or if your first language is not English you will be required to provide acceptable evidence of your English language proficiency level.
