Rameez Kureshi: My name is Rameez Kureshi. I am a lecturer and a programme director of MSc in A.I at Hull Online.

This programme is aimed at anyone who wants to reskill their A.I expertise or already working in the A.I domain. With this module, they can get much more knowledge and they will enhance their skills.

Our MSc A.I online course stands out in two ways. First one is we have designed the content of the course to fulfill the requirement of industries with the advanced technical skills such as machine learning, deep learning, advanced AI techniques, some of the data science concepts as well as statistical skills.

Second, we have designed the course in terms of the handling, the issues, real time issues, and also with the help of AI application, which mainly focuses on ethical and reliability explainability and also it can handle the legal issues.

On this course. They learn so many things, especially in the domain of A.I. Also, they can use their whatever they're learning from this course. They can use this expertise to handle the real world problems in various domains such as health care, automobiles or any of the sectors. Also, if they are working in industry, they can use this course knowledge in to handle the real world problems.

The students can learn and expand their horizons and A.I skills according to their convenience. So they can fulfill their commitments while they are learning from our online courses. The UK government issued the report 2020 and it said that there are 50% job vacancies empty which required the A.I skill sets. With this course, we try to fill that gap with the Hull online platform. You can be an expert and it will be much easier to compete with your competitors in a job market. So the modules we have designed are future proof, covering more advanced skills and easy to learn with our virtual and virtual environment.

Learning online. That doesn't mean you are alone. You have we have a very large community. So a large community of the students, actually. So you can engage with them and you can build your own community with the help of Hull online platform.

Course modules

Our postgraduate course is focused on giving you an education of real-world value. The modules below are designed to equip you with the specialist knowledge, practical expertise, and critical thinking needed to succeed across a range of industries and sectors.

Please note that all modules are compulsory.

Artificial Intelligence Foundations (30 credits) Grey

An introduction to the fundamental concepts in Artificial Intelligence, and their real-time applications. Build fundamental skills in AI-relevant programming concepts along with a critical awareness of important principles in software design and development. You’ll learn how to create applications in Python.

Machine Learning & Deep Learning (30 credits) Grey

Today, leading global organisations use Machine Learning (ML) and deep neural network systems in a variety of products and applications. This module can help you to delve deeper into the three key areas of AI: problem-solving, knowledge representation and ML and their industry-level applications.

Ethical, Regulatory and Social Aspects for Fair AI (30 credits) Grey

Learn how to develop a research proposal to address real-world questions and challenges. Further your knowledge of the ethical, legal, social, and professional frameworks you’ll need to both uphold and operate within.

Applied Artificial Intelligence (30 credits) Grey

Gain an advanced understanding of the application of AI – particularly within the context of business. You’ll explore the use of different technologies for business management, business model thinking and innovation, business process design, and adapting to change. Discover more about the link between AI and communication, including (mis) information diffusion and human-computer interactions.

Research / Consultancy Project (60 credits) Grey

Challenge yourself with applying the expertise you have developed during your studies to take on a dissertation, research project, or consultancy project. Your final project can tackle any issue in an area of the field that you’d like to specialise in – or even an actual need in your current workplace.

For example, you could choose to create an AI solution for your company that addresses a unique challenge it faces. You’ll take on the project under the supervision of a member of our academic team and also have the freedom to use your solution to make new strides in your place of work.

How you're assessed

All assessment is based on coursework and submitted online.

Your performance will be evaluated through a range of methods, including:

  • Ongoing tutor and peer feedback
  • Practical work, such as programming activities and code reviews
  • Written work, such as essays and individual reports

These will be opportunities for you to identify appropriate AI approaches to real-world problems, run AI analytics, and explore the use and communication of the outcomes of AI applications in real-world contexts.

You’ll also be encouraged to regularly reflect on your own performance, to further your ability to critically evaluate and direct your development.
