What you'll study

By studying this module you'll have the opportunity to examine theories that underpin approaches to team leading in work-based settings. It will enable you to apply theory to practice in order to effectively team lead in health or social care practice.

Throughout the module, you will explore and compare the definitions of management and leadership and analyse the impact on the role of the team leader and your own professional practice. You'll demonstrate how theory and practice combine to create quality and effective people management for teams and inter-professional working. You'll also understand and be able to implement processes and systems to ensure accountability and quality, as well as reflecting on your own professional team leadership and team effectiveness within a health or social care setting.

This module is delivered on Thursday afternoons on campus.
