Faculty of Health Sciences The Practice of Colonoscopy Continuing Professional Development Individual module Level of study Please select a level How to apply What you'll study This module has been developed to meet the increasing demands of Postgraduate education within medical careers and Advancing Practitioner roles within the healthcare environment. The module aims to provide the student with the necessary knowledge and understanding required in which to underpin the specialised practice of colonoscopy. It is designed to extended knowledge in Endoscopy with particular reference to modern techniques beyond the level of basic gastrointestinal endoscopy. The aims of this module are to provide the student with extended endoscopic knowledge and understanding in which to underpin the practice of Colonoscopy. The module includes all aspects of the basic skills in colonoscopy course, a requirement of JAG (The joint advisory group) for endoscopy accreditation, as described in the JAG Training Guidelines for Gastrointestinal endoscopy, 2004. The module will be facilitated by a variety of clinicians, highly experienced nurses and other allied health professional with extended experience within this area as part of the continued commitment to the inter-professional learning agenda within the university.
