It provides the opportunity for healthcare professionals to inform and contribute to the patient journey within gastroenterology within the multidisciplinary environment. The module forms part of the gastroenterology degree level pathway. The module aims to introduce the student to the various diseases and disorders which affect the gastrointestinal tract. It will provide the student with the necessary knowledge and critical understanding of gastroenterological disease which can be applied within the practice of gastrointestinal care. The module will be facilitated by a variety of clinicians, highly experienced nurses and other allied health professional with extended experience within this area as part of the continued commitment to the inter-professional learning agenda within the university.
