Developing Strategic Influence

What you'll study

This module is designed to enable students to:

  • Explore the concept of strategy/strategic thinking
  • Acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to influence developments at a strategic level within their organisation
  • Develop confidence in their ability to articulate ideas and present convincing arguments

Examples of the topics covered include:

  • The nature of strategic thinking and its application to professional practice
  • Futures Thinking
  • Organisational strategy and its development
  • Making Decisions in the Context of Risk and Uncertainty
  • Leading strategically
  • Influencing Skills and Political Behaviour
  • Inter-professional/Partnership working
  • Working with conflict

January 12 weeks (1 semester)

This module is delivered on Thursdays 9am - 11.50am on campus.

Entry requirements

Usually, evidence of ability to study at level 6 or above will be required. If you do not meet this standard entry requirement but have professional experience at a senior level please contact module leader to discuss.
