This practice module is only available through the Associate Practitioner pathway.

Students applying for this module will have the approval of their employing NHS Trust to undertake the award of Associate Practitioner. Students will work in the clinical setting with a designated clinical mentor/assessor and mentorship/assessment team. Time will be spent in the clinical area caring for patients with a range of conditions appropriate to the speciality. Whilst caring for patients the student will demonstrate the skills and knowledge at the appropriate level in order to achieve the learning outcomes.

This practice module allows the student to explore the roles and responsibilities of practitioners within the perioperative environment. The student will be introduced to the fundamental concepts and theories which underpin practice and intervention ensuring safe delivery of care during the perioperative event.
