Summary

Wayne qualified as a Social Worker in 2009 and worked in a variety of multidiscplinary Teams across statutory adult services including Older Adults Assessment Team, Older Adults Mental Health Team, where he completed his Best Interest Assessor training, and Hospital Adult Assessment Team (as a Senior Social Work Practitioner).

In practice Wayne developed a focus on service user empowerment through use of the Mental Capacity Act and Adult Safeguarding policy.

He joined the Social Work Team at the University of Hull in September 2019.

His current research interest is around practitioner self-esteem within the context of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards practice.
