I received my PhD in Philosophy from the University of Essex and I used to teach for a bit at the University of Warwick. Most of my publications are on Adorno, contemporary ethical naturalism, and the intersections thereof. I've just finished writing a book on hope (and becoming a father, and Adorno and Benjamin's reading of Kafka, and virtue ethics, and Mark Fisher) which will come out with Repeater Books next year. Aside from teaching (this semester) at Hull, I write weekly columns for an American website called The Outline. I'm also interested in Marx, Kierkegaard, Bruce Chatwin, and the philosophy of the internet.
