Summary

Having qualified as a social worker in 1988, Steve has extensive experience in the fields of child and family social work and mental health. He has worked within local authority adult and children’s services and occupied senior management and regional quality improvement roles within the NHS and NICE. Steve was previously a Local Authority foster carer and he also provides supported accomodation for young people leaving care.

Undergraduate

Steve is a practice educator and is a co-director of the Social Work Apprenticeship programme.

Research interests

Steve completed his PhD in Social Work in 2010, focussing upon inter-professional collaboration in child and adolescent mental services. His research interests include implementation science, evaluation research, inter-professional working and integrated models of care. Steve joined the University in September 2019
