Dr Sergei Lukaschuk is an engineer-physicist specialising in experimental fluid dynamics with expertise in surface waves, hydrodynamic turbulence and ultrasound.

He started his career at the Russian Academy of Science, before working at the Weizmann Institute of Science and Biosonix Ltd, a high-tech start-up company in Israel.

He joined the University of Hull in 2002. His main academic achievements are associated with experiments on laminar-turbulent transition in Couette-Taylor flow, discovery of floater clustering by standing surface waves, and laboratory studies of energy cascade in wave turbulence.
