Applicant Experience Day travel grant

Travelling more than 20 miles? We'll chip in towards your travel costs*

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to see for yourself if our campus is as perfect for you as we think it might be. So if you're travelling from more than 20 miles away, we'll pay a hefty chunk of your travel costs so you get to enjoy your journey that little bit more.

The travel fund amount depends on the distance travelled to the University and is calculated by the University of Hull. The amount awarded will be based on the shortest route from the registered home postcode on the booking form to the University's Cottingham Road campus (postcode HU6 7RX).

*Here's how much you can get:

Distance from the University  Amount
 20-69 miles  £30
 70-149 miles  £50
150 miles or more £100

Travel money will be paid in cash (yes, cash!), and must be claimed on the day at the designated point which will be clearly signposted. You will need to bring a form of ID - either a bank card, student card, driving licence or passport - and something with your address on, too. This must be collected before 3pm on the day. Travel money cannot be awarded retrospectively, and you may claim this only once. If you're travelling from overseas, the distance will be calculated from the point you enter the UK.

If you need any help claiming this back, please talk to one of our team on the day.

Or why not stay the night?

If you're travelling from more than 70 miles away, we can put you up the night before an open day or applicant day in one of our swanky on-campus rooms at Westfield Court. And it won't cost you a penny.

To take advantage of this fantastic opportunity, all you need to do is be registered to attend an applicant experience day. A maximum of four rooms are available per party, and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis - so be quick if you want to bagsy your places. A complimentary breakfast will be available and we'll even supply the bedding and toiletries.

And in case you were wondering, yes, you'd still get your travel funds as well.
