Up and coming artists of the future

There are so many opportunities for our students to create and perform art. From musical showcases, to large-scale theatrical experiences, we are proud of the hand we have in creating the cultural greats of the future.

Focus on Bowie

Final-year students focused on the work of artist David Bowie during one module. All the group-work, composing and rehearsing culminated in a public performance in the recently renovated Middleton Hall facilities – a fantastic experience for their future careers.

Weathered Estates

Weathered Estates

Drama graduates the Roaring Girls performed their acclaimed professional show, Weathered Estates, as part of the first seasons of City of Culture 2017.

Weathered Estates, written by award winning playwright Zodwa Nyoni in conjunction with the company, follows the fates of four women surviving the aftermath of war. Full of explosions, puppets, raucous signing and a Greek chorus, the show gave the opportunity for students to join the all-female cast and crew, including third year student Olivia Haw, who performed one of the four main leads.
