Welcome to Hull York Medical School: the joint medical school of the University of Hull and University of York.

Through a unique partnership between the universities, NHS Trusts and community healthcare providers, we are focused on delivering exceptional medical education and postgraduate study.

As well as our innovative undergraduate Medicine programme, we offer a diverse range of postgraduate programmes in the fields of physician associate studies, anatomy, pharmacology, and health professions education.

Our impact goes beyond teaching and learning and extends to research, which has discovery and innovation at its heart. This research is improving the lives of patients locally and impacting national and international health agendas, in areas such as cancer research, palliative medicine, mental health and global public health.

Our programme combines patient-centred teaching, clinician-led problem based learning, rigorous academic study grounded in the sciences, and regular clinical experience from the third week of your first year.

Here, you will develop the superior clinical and problem solving skills, and confident, empathetic approach to delivering brilliant care that Hull York Medical School graduates are known for.

At the end of your studies, you will graduate thoroughly prepared for clinical practice, with an MB BS degree awarded jointly by the University of Hull and the University of York.

At the heart of the University’s £28million health campus sits the award winning Allam Medical Building, home to Hull York Medical School in Hull.

Officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II, the building is an aspirational teaching and learning environment where you will interact with other healthcare professionals in training, including nursing, physician associate and midwifery students.
