Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering is part of the Department of Engineering, which sits within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. We scored 93% for our learning resources in the 2018 National Student Survey (HEIs), a total that placed us in the UK's top four for this subject area.

Hull is the ideal place to engineer your future. All Mechanical Engineering programmes are accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and are a recognised qualification towards Chartered Engineer status.


You'll have numerous opportunities to take part in activities - like becoming part of our Formula Student Team and building a single-seater racing car. Formula Student is Europe's most established educational motorsport contest and an annual highlight for many of our students.
