Geology

Our students rate us highly. Our geology courses are joint 1st in the UK for overall student satisfaction with a score of 100%. Geology is part of the School of Environmental Sciences, which sits within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

COURSES

At Hull, you’ll be studying in one of the UK’s leading centres for geology. Our internationally renowned staff specialise in global geological issues such as volcanic hazards, mass extinctions, mineral resources and climate change.

    Grounded in earth science, our BSc Geology degree course equips students with specialist skills. By enrolling, you'll begin to tackle real-world problems.

A degree in Geology equips you with the direct experience and skills to work in the specialist fields of exploration geology, the petroleum industry and environmental agencies and consultancies.

CAREERS

There’s a whole raft of stimulating careers open to geology graduates: roles including exploration geologist, environmental consultant and scientist, to name just a few. The skills you'll pick up will also equip you for the wider jobs market – from management to the media. Many of our students choose to progress to postgraduate study, including teacher training and research degrees.
