BA Criminology

My name is Abbie and I am a third-year Criminology student!

Before I came to study at the University of Hull, I attended both an open day and an offer holder day. Before this I didn’t know the difference between the two so I hope this blog post gives you an insight into why coming to an offer holder day is so important!

Offer Holder Days are a good chance for you to truly experience student life and get a feel of whether the University and course you have applied for is right for you. If you have already been to an Open Day, you might be wondering why you even need to attend an Offer Holder Day. However, these days are specially put on by the university in order for you to meet your future lecturers face-to-face, ask any burning questions you have and sit in on more in-depth subject taster sessions. They also offer you the chance to meet your future course mates and start forming the bonds that will last you a lifetime.

When you attend an Offer Holder Day here at Hull you will experience what it’s like to live here, with tours of the campus and the city centre giving you a great taste of Hull life. You will also get a chance to look around and apply for your future room in one of our three amazing on-site accommodations: Westfield Court, Taylor Court and Courtyard. Make sure you take a look round all three to find the one that suits you best as they are all unique in their own way.

These days are a great opportunity for you to take full advantage of the help that the University of Hull offers its applicants, as you can attend revision and study skills sessions as well as gain help starting your student finance application with our specialist team. If that wasn’t enough, you can also claim back up to £125 towards your travel costs and enjoy a free lunch before subject sessions.

Finally, just have fun! This is your chance to fully experience university life for the first time and get an insight into how the next three years of your life will be spent. Make sure to make the most of the guidance, support and student insight that the University offers on these fantastic offer holder days.
